Apply online, upload your photographs and pay the fee. You can save your application and come back to it later, and follow its progress at any time.

Two interlocking rings above a rising sun A decorative emblem: two interlocking gold and white rings above a stylised sunrise, representing the joining of two people.

How it works

1. Apply

Give the details of both parties, upload a passport photograph for each, and choose a marriage date.

2. Pay

Pay the application fee and keep your acknowledgement slip. The registry verifies your payment.

3. Notice published

Your notice of marriage goes on public display for 21 days, during which anyone may object.

4. Marry

If no objection is upheld, your marriage is approved. Your certificate is emailed to you afterwards.

Before you start

  • Your marriage date must be more than 21 days from today.
  • Both parties need an identification document and a passport photograph (2.00 x 2.00 inches, at most 200 KB).
  • You do not have to finish in one sitting โ€” we email you a link so you can come back.
